Motivation comes and goes; habits produce development.
By Phil "CoachRose" Rose — Founder & Director of Sports, UK PE Group — part of the CoachRose Insights Young Athlete Development series.
Motivation is a feeling. It comes and goes. Consistency is a habit — and habits are what produce development.
The athletes who improve most are rarely the ones who feel brilliant every day. They are the ones who keep turning up: warming up properly, practising technique, listening, making corrections, recovering, and doing it again next week.
You don’t need to feel motivated every day. You need to keep showing up.
