A child who dominates at 10 because they are taller or stronger is not guaranteed to dominate at 16. Growth and maturation change everything in youth sport.
Some of the best athletes were overlooked, released or smaller than their peers at a younger age. They needed more time — and they got it.
Never write a young athlete off too early. Ask “Am I improving?” not “Am I the best?”
