Quality, recovery and appropriate workload matter.
By Phil "CoachRose" Rose — Founder & Director of Sports, UK PE Group — part of the CoachRose Insights Young Athlete Development series.
Six sessions a week doesn’t automatically beat three good ones.
More training only helps if the body can absorb it. A focused 45-minute session can achieve more than two hours of unfocused work. Young athletes need enough work to improve and enough recovery to absorb it.
Quality beats quantity. Recovery is part of training.
